The procedure is performed using a piercing gun and disposable earrings with sterilization certificate. They are made of anti-allergic material and are a little thicker than normal earrings, so that puncture is pressed apart, what facilitates wearing ordinary earrings later.

Following piercing procedure, the earrings should be worn continuously for 6 weeks or longer. Redness and tenderness following the procedure is perfectly normal. Special attention should be paid to the hygiene of ears and the surrounding area

Piercing should not be performed in the following patients:

- HIV-positive

- cancer sufferers

- diabetics

- pregnant women

- persons taking medicines that reduce blood clotting

-persons taking immunosuppressive drugs or steroids

- hemophiliacs

- leukemia patients

- kidney failure, liver, heart failure sufferers

- persons suffering from diseases not mentioned previously mentioned connected with metabolic disorders, malabsorption or immune disorders

- persons with known parasitic infection

- persons suffering from fungal infection or other lesions around the area of the planned piercing
